Since Google’s search engine already crawls the Web every day, resolving and caching DNS information, Google wants to use its technology to experiment with new ways to address some of the existing DNS challenges related to performance and security. Google Public DNS is not part of the Google Cloud Platform. For Google Cloud Platform users (paid), a very similar service called Google Cloud DNS, is available. However, it is very likely that both offerings access the same data collection.
